Successful Replacement Application of FBU APOG Mechanical Seal on FLOWSERVE® ERPN Pumps

At a Chinese PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) chemical plant, FBU has successfully completed the delivery, installation, and commissioning of the APOG mechanical seal on FLOWSERVE® ERPN pumps. The equipment has been operating stably with excellent performance. The plant has long utilized FLOWSERVE® pump equipment, including not only the ERPN model but also various types such as the DURCO MARK III. On these critical units, the reliability and service life of the mechanical seals directly impact production continuity and maintenance costs.

Building on the successful application experience of the APOG seal on the ERPN pumps, FBU sealing products have been promoted and implemented across multiple scenarios within this PTA plant, gradually replacing FLOWSERVE®'s QB and ISC type seals. This replacement process has not only verified the technical maturity of FBU seals in terms of structural design, material selection, and adaptability to operational conditions but also demonstrated their capability to compete with international brands in complex chemical environments.

This successful collaboration has, on one hand, helped the user reduce spare parts procurement costs and mitigate supply chain risks. On the other hand, it showcases the feasibility of using high-end domestic mechanical seals to replace imported products in critical industrial sectors.
