Special 2295 Series Mechanical Seals for the Pulp and Paper Industry - Custom Solutions for Sunds®JALAVARRA Refiners

Publish Time: 2026-03-13     Origin: Site

In the pulp and paper industry, the pulping process is a core link that determines pulp fiber quality and paper performance. The stable operation of refiners directly affects the production efficiency and product consistency of the entire production line. As a mature refiner widely used in the pulp and paper industry, the Sunds®JALAVARRA series operates under conditions often accompanied by abrasive media containing fibers and fillers, along with equipment vibration, shaft窜动, and fluctuations in pressure and temperature. These conditions place strict requirements on the adaptability, stability, and service life of supporting mechanical seals. Developed specifically for the operating characteristics and installation needs of this equipment, our 2295 series mechanical seals provide customized sealing solutions for Sunds®JALAVARRA refiners.

I. Core Structural Design and Adaptability Advantages for Operating Conditions

Focusing on the industry pain points of the pulp pulping process, the 2295 series seals are custom-designed around the operating parameters and installation space of Sunds®JALAVARRA refiners. Through an optimized structural layout, they achieve excellent adaptability to complex pulping conditions.

1. Custom Adaptation Design for In-Situ Installation Compatibility

This series of products is specifically developed for Sunds®JALAVARRA refiners. Their structural dimensions are highly compatible with the installation space and shaft diameter parameters of the main equipment, enabling in-situ adaptive installation. Usually, no additional modifications to the equipment structure are required, which effectively reduces the workload of on-site installation and maintenance, and meets the needs of daily equipment inspection and accessory replacement.

2. Static Compensation Balanced Structure to Enhance Dynamic Operation Stability

The product adopts a static compensation sealing face design combined with a balanced structural layout. The balanced design can reasonably adjust the specific pressure of the sealing face, adapt to pressure fluctuations under refiner operating conditions, and reduce abnormal wear of the face. The static compensation structure can improve the seal's followability to vibration and radial shaft runout during equipment operation, ensuring the fitting stability of the sealing face under dynamic conditions and maintaining a continuous and stable sealing effect.

3. Double-End Single-Group Multi-Spring Structure to Strengthen Sealing Protection

The product adopts a double-end sealing structure, which can achieve double isolation of process media and meet the requirements for media leakage control in the pulp and paper pulping link. Combined with a single-group multi-spring structure, it can make the spring force distribution more uniform, provide stable compensation force for the sealing face, and ensure the reliability of the seal during long-term operation.

4. Atmospheric-Side Spring Layout to Significantly Reduce Failure Risk

Aiming at the industry pain point where fibers and fillers in pulp pulping media are prone to causing blockage and failure of elastic components, the 2295 series seals arrange the spring assembly on the atmospheric side, completely isolated from process media and buffer fluid. This can effectively avoid blockage, jamming, or corrosion of the spring by solid particles in the medium, significantly reducing the risk of spring failure and thereby extending the overall service life of the seal.

II. Multi-Scheme Compatibility to Meet Diverse Operating Needs

The 2295 series seals are compatible with a variety of API 682 standard flushing schemes, covering mainstream double-end seal flushing schemes such as Plan 52, Plan 53A, Plan 54, and Plan 55. They can be flexibly adapted according to on-site operating conditions and supporting conditions to meet the process needs of different pulp and paper production lines. The core characteristics and application scenarios of each scheme are shown in the table below:

Scheme Number
Scheme Name
Core Principle
Application Scenarios
Plan 52
Unpressurized Buffer Fluid System
Relies on an unpressurized buffer fluid storage and circulation system to provide continuous cooling and isolation protection for the sealing face.
Suitable for pulp pulping conditions where the medium is easy to vaporize and process medium leakage to the atmospheric environment is not allowed.
Plan 53A
Pressurized Isolation Fluid System
Continuously supplies clean isolation fluid to the seal through an externally air-pressurized isolation fluid storage tank to build a protective barrier.
Suitable for pulp pulping scenarios with higher requirements for zero medium leakage.
Plan 54
External Forced Flushing System
Relies on an independent external pressurized fluid system to provide uninterrupted flushing and cooling services for the seal, maintaining the cleanliness of the face.
Suitable for relatively harsh pulp pulping processes, coping with high-abrasion and high-fluctuation operating environments.
Plan 55
Buffer Fluid System
Introduces external clean buffer fluid to create a stable and clean operating environment for the sealing face, adapting to supporting condition requirements.
Suitable for pulp and paper production lines with on-site clean buffer fluid supply conditions, meeting the conventional and medium-to-high requirement for operating condition protection.

III. Model Coverage and Application Scenarios

The 2295 series seals include four standard models: JC01, JC02, JC03, and JC04. They can cover the adaptation needs of different specifications of main Sunds®JALAVARRA refiners, meet the pulping process conditions of various pulping lines such as chemical pulp, mechanical pulp, and recycled pulp, and are widely applicable to the sealing needs of different process scenarios such as medium-consistency and high-consistency pulping in the pulp and paper industry.
As a special seal product developed specifically for Sunds®JALAVARRA refiners, the 2295 series mechanical seals have always been based on the actual operating needs of the pulp and paper industry. Through targeted structural design and stable product performance, they provide reliable sealing protection for refiner equipment, helping pulp and paper enterprises reduce equipment maintenance costs and improve the continuity and stability of production line operation.
